Read in your book, Islam, pp. 8-10, and in the handout, about the "Spread of Islam." Then, create an outline entitled THE SPREAD OF ISLAM. It should be a minimum of 20 lines, but no more than 2 pages long -- that is, don't do too little, but don't overdo it, either!
Practice the "apple pie" method of outlining -- if there is a I, there has to be a II (Roman numerals, that is)...or if an A, at least a B, or also a C. If you divide something to the next level, you have to divide it into at least two or more parts.
Put periods after all of your Roman numerals, capital letters, numbers, and lower case letters. Use the outlines you did in class as a guide/reminder.
